We’re asking disabled people to share their experiences of discrimination and the steps they’ve taken to challenge it.

We want to share your story online to help raise awareness of the Equality Act and help other disabled people feel confident and empowered to take action as well. Take a video or a photo, send an audio file, or write it down - share your story in your own way.

We'll be gathering all of the stories we receive and have begun to publish them online, see: https://bit.ly/2qzYfNG. We’ll also use the information you tell us to inform our policy and to create campaigns to protect and strengthen disabled people’s rights. For more information see: https://bit.ly/2Jt0HhC

Feel free to share as much or as little as you like. Let's get started.

Would you like us to share your story on our websites and on social media? *

That's great, thank you. We'll share your story anonymously.

That's great thank you. We won't share your story online but it can help inform the campaigns we run in future.

Perfect. Please tell us your first name.

Share your story in your own way. You can write about your experience in the next few boxes, or if you'd prefer to upload a video, image or audio scroll down.

Tell us about it from the start - how did the discrimination begin?

We review all stories and may edit stories if needed. Just so you know, for legal reasons we’re not able to publish the names of people or organisations involved in your stories, so if you choose to include these we’ll need to edit these out before publishing.

What steps did you take to address it?

This could be a tweet to a company, a complaint to a manager, or researching your rights. We’re interested in any action you took.

How did it make you feel?

What was the outcome - was anything changed?

Share your story in your own way. Upload a video, audio file or an image that describes your experience of discrimination. Feel free to move on if you'd rather not.

Should you choose to include a photo, video or audio file it may not be possible to remain anonymous. Please only submit material that is your own, see https://bit.ly/2yWvpvt

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us?

We may have missed an important question - let us know here if there's anything else you'd like to tell us about. Anything at all, just let us know.

Would you be willing for a staff member at Disability Rights UK to be in touch with you by email?

We may email you to ask you more details about your story.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

You've chosen for us not to publish your story, but all of the stories we receive will feed into our campaigning work. To read some of the stories already submitted see: https://bit.ly/2qzYfNG
